Hi! .About me. I'm a single senior, 65 years young, have two children, two grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild. (yes, I'm a great-grandmother, but then, I've always been great...at least, that's what I tell them), and I'm a student at a local college. I live in the country with as many dogs and cats as I can support, and hobbies include writing (of course) , reading, music, and almost anything that just strikes me as being worth checking out. I want to say I remodel and garden, but actually, those things are just yard work and maintenance, although I do re-paint and re-structure things in my house now and then. I have visited places such as Hong Kong, Bangkok, Singapore, Mexico, and Canada, as well as traveled ogver the U.S., from Florida to Alaska - but mostly in the South and Southwest. Still on the list for outside the U.S. are Nova Scotia, Italy and Greece, but there are so many places in the continental U.S. that I haven't seen except in photographs that I'lm more likely to get to. Ah, but there's time, isn't there?
Social media sites are useful for sharing news and common interests, advertising, giveaways, connecting old or distant friends, and in general, creating bonds across the miles - and yes, they are fun. Those of you who follow my Facebook page know I mostly share things about words and writing, with a few funny cartoons thrown in. It automatically links […]

If absence makes the heart grow fonder, you guys must be loving me by now! I’ve been traveling, checking up on ill family members, setting up an upcoming writers’ conference, combining a couple households, looking at small houses for future retirement (downsizing a bit), and, oh yeah…working! And somewhere in there, I’ve done a very little bit of writing. Sometimes I […]
This is my first blog post in a long time, mainly because I’ve been so busy with some urgent issues, and haven’t even THOUGHT about writing – which brings me to the subject of this post. Recently I acquired a temporary house-mate. Up until that time, I lived completely alone for a very long time, […]
Am I the only one that’s tired of the internet screaming at me? You may have noticed it, too. The headlines blare You will be Amazed! or You’ll Never Guess What Happens Next!. Just this morning, when I opened my home page, these words and phrases assaulted me not just once, but several times: The […]
