dumb stunts

Just commenting on the world today…..

Remember these famous lines? “Here, hold my beer!” or “Hey, watch this!” have been joked about a lot as the beginning of pranks or actions that have gone terribly wrong. So, do we need to create a classification for communication by electronic devices?

Face it – our world is now ruled by cell phones. But, with power comes responsibility. Can someone explain WHY a supposedly intelligent person would leave an incriminating text on their cell phone - where someone might see it? Or send a nude photo of themselves? Or a video of a drunken party? Leave it, heck.  Why would they do it in the first place?

I remember as long ago as high school, we were admonished “Don’t put it in writing!”   This, of course, applied to snarky notes about somebody’s girlfriend, or journal entries about skipping school, and a few other things – and all we had to worry about was somebody finding a crumpled piece of paper and showing it to the offended party.

caught textingNow the clear, really unnecessary, warning should be – don’t text or instant photo! Politicians, businessmen, sports figures, and others are being exposed as frauds and thieves, cheating spouses and ‘porn stars’ because of texts or compromising photos that were instantly shared with the world. I know of two marriages that broke up recently because of text messages that were discovered. Yeah, they probably would have broken up sooner or later, but….

Just because we can, doesn’t mean we should, you know.

Just sayin…..

 life is weird

Hey, writers, remember – life is stranger than fiction.
