I’m at Lucidity Poetry Workshop/Retreat this week. It’s a fun event – if you aren’t here, why not?
I was still in my ‘Going to Oz’ mindset, and wrote this on my way up to the workshop.
Wanderlust I wish I really had a pair of Dorothy’s scarlet shoes. I’d click my heels and I could be in any place I choose. I’d never wait for liv’ryed guards, No schedule would I keep. No travel agents’ fees to pay. Like walking in my sleep! There’d be no sea I couldn ‘t cross, no land I’d never see I’d discover worlds that have been lost and new ones, yet to be. But since the local shops don’t stock Miss Dorothy’s shoes of red, I have to stick to native trails, and wear my plain white Keds.
